History of Legacy Middle School
Legacy Middle School opened its doors in August 2020 with the ability to house 1,000 students. The school is the 12th middle school in the district.
The school serves the Franklin community in grades 6 through 8.
Legacy Middle strives to help students achieve their best potential through integrity, teamwork, and being part of the community.
The Legacy Middle campus includes the following:
- 54 classrooms and 9 science labs for our students 6th through 8th grade
- Theater
- Gymnasium
- Media Center or Learning Commons
- Cafeteria
- Outdoor Sports Complex including concessions stand, restrooms, soccer field, baseball and softball fields and football field.
We are the Legacy Lions
Legacy Middle School is part of the Williamson County School District in Middle Tennessee and is located 27 minutes south of Nashville, Tennessee. Our district is a large area consisting of 562 square miles and Legacy Middle School is located in the central part of the district. Our middle school houses grades 6 through 8 and provides safe facilities along with an excellent learning environment.
We are proud to represent our school with navy, white and gold colors.

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
We are a PBIS school that focuses on positively reinforcing students for making good choices and having good behavior.
We expect students to be respectful of all adults, students and school property; responsible in all daily activities; and to take pride in all endeavors.
You might hear your student mention Pride Points. Students earn pride points for exhibiting good behaviors in the Respect, Responsibility and Ready categories.
These points can later be cashed in for small prizes, used as raffle tickets and used to enter into activities at our quarterly PBIS celebrations such as our Roar Store and Romp and Roar.
